Dogs Love to Chew

Dogs like to chew...Why we prefer Antlerz over rawhide.

  • Much longer lasting
  • Very green IE: They come from a sustainable renewable source as deer shed them naturally every year, with NO harm to the deer
  • Rich in minerals
  • Help clean teeth better than softer choices

This is our primary reason for not treating with rawhide

Rawhides are much softer and in general do not last as long as deer antlers. Because they are soft, rawhides may also be torn into large chunks which, swallowed whole instead of being chewed, may cause intestinal blockage. .....Tay and Tara have both done this , fortunately they escaped any blockage .

Antlerz are a 100% natural, mineral rich, long lasting dog chew. The new chew is made from a natural material that is rich in minerals, does not splinter and comes from a completely renewable source: Deer Antlers! Wild deer shed their antlers once a year as part of a natural process, after which the deer re-grow another set. These shed antlers are gathered by ranch workers and transported to QT Dog's manufacturing facility. The antlers are cut to the appropriate size, cleaned, and packaged to produce dog chews. ANTLERZ™ hold up substantially longer than most traditional chews made from plastic, bone, or compacted starch. A minerals analysis of these dog chews show high concentrations of calcium and phosphorus, with trace amounts iron, zinc, and sodium. Unlike processed livestock bones ANTLERZ™ don't chip or splinter when they are being used by even the most aggressive chewing dogs. A dog's chewing action grinds ANTLERZ™ down slowly. Deer antlers are a 100% natural, mineral rich dog chew that contains no plastics, no petrochemicals, no empty starches or artificial flavors.

Pack Favorites for joint Issues

We carefully choose all the products we sell, but even with all our pack we obviously can't try every one of them personally.

A couple ones that we especially like for preventative care and treatment of joint deterioration and pain  are:
Yucca Intensive , we have found this 'Natural Steroid" to be very helpful for our GSD Rocky. recently diagnosed with advanced arthritis in his left hip, our veterinarian prescribed Rimadyl.
While his blood work showed an ability to 'handle" this prescription and having had remarkable results in the past with another dog , We  now know  that as any 'drug",it can have detrimental side effects.

We decided to take an integrated approach of natural ,holistic alternatives and prescription medication. We cut his Rimadyl dose in half and supplemented it with "Yucca Intensive" We are very pleased with the results and routine blood work checks shows no adverse effects .

we also supplement all of our dogs , as a preventive to joint deterioration with both Sea Jerkywhich we actually found out about from a current customer ...Thank you Aicha! It makes joint care so simple as the great tasting jerky like supplement is like a treat to the dogs!

Another Great Product we use is Pet Naturals of Vermont Hip and Joint as well as Daily Best.

Of course all of our "Treats" also have Health benefits too.

Whats your favorite joint care product (s)?

How does your garden grow?

As summer progresses, most gardens and fruit trees are in full swing and green grass abides.

We Humans aren't the only ones who enjoy the taste and benefits of fresh fruits and veggies.

Natural, organic, made in the USA Healthy Dog  treats are another great convenient way for our furbabies to reap the antioxidant benefits of fruits and vegetables  year round too.

Bell Rock growers provides Fresh Greens that you can even plant yourself! Garden Bites and
Fruitables are packed full of ...well, veggies and fruit.

Vegetables are a rich source of vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber and if you're a human you probably already know the importance of getting your servings of fruits and vegetables each day. With increasing concern about preservatives and other harmful chemicals in commercial dog foods, more dog owners are preparing their dog's food at home from scratch.
Although some would argue that vegetables are not a necessary component of a dog's diet, vegetables supply disease preventing phytochemicals that your dogs may not be able to get from other sources. Plus, many of the positive benefits of vegetable consumption were noted through animal studies. Although vegetables aren't a required component in a dog's diet, the phytochemicals found in such abundance in vegetables may help to prevent some of the chronic diseases seen in dogs just as they do in humans.

Would YOU Know what to DO?

In the face of a natural disaster our pets depend on us for help.

We recently attended a fundraising event for Indiana County Animal Response Team.

While there we met some old friends and made some new.

The Utopian Dog Bowls , Bling Bandanas, and Addie's doberman mug gift for her Paw Parent were some crowd favorites.

Most Importantly we learned some useful information in the
event an emergency situation hits Home!

As one would expect you need to prepare an emergency kit for your pets just as you would for any other family member. Food , bottled water, first aide kit, proof of vaccines,a picture of your pet and preferably one of you together to help prove ownership should you become separated..

collar, leash, portable kennel, list of any medications. Unfortunately you may find yourself in a situation where you have to leave your pet at home. This can be a great danger but there are a few things which can make it a little safer. NEVER leave them chained outside. Leave them loose inside the house with plenty of food and water. put a notice on your door, front window that advises your pets are inside and provide a phone number where you can be reached another contact and your veterinarian's name and number
